Who are we?

Matrimol Ltda. is  a Colombian company, established in 1978 and dedicated to manufacture epoxic standoff electric insulators en a very wide quantity of forms, voltages and applications specially for control panels and switchgears.

We have developed a technology to manufacture moulds at a low price, which allows us to offer different models of insulators and to develop new models from a sample or a drawing according to what customer needs. An example of this application are insulators that we have produced for distribution electrical companies, replacing old insulators that are quite difficult to find.

We offer insulators for indoor and outdoor use; formulation used in each case is different because weather conditions, ultraviolet rays, rain and other atmospheric agents demand it. For indoor  insulators we use a cycloaromatic epoxic resin with a thermal index of 95^oC, and for outdoor insulators we work with a cycloaliphatic epoxic resin, that has a thermal index of 135^oC and which chemical structure is very stable at UV rays.

The manufacture method used, polymerization under pressure, has been developed to inject the insulators without internal tensions, shrinkage control and using a formula that has 6 days pot life, which allows to submit the epoxic resin to vacuum for a long period, taking out all the air for the mixture before it is injected in a closed mould.

For manufacturing the insulators que follow the standards  IEC 60660, IEC 60273 andy NTC 2685.
